According to Apple’s website the 3Gs is faster than the 3G. They state “render in a fraction of time” and “improved performance and updated 3d graphics deliver an incredible gaming experience too”.

Processor speed: 600MHz Samsum Processor (based on the ARM Cortex A8 design)
Graphics Chip: Power VR SGX from imagination Technologies
Samsung states that the chip is also capable of high-definition (HD) 720p video.
iPhone 3G
Processor speed: 400MHz (older ARM design)
